PRAGUE, October 18 – RIA Novosti. In Slovakia, a series of military exercises called the European Shield (“European Shield”) began on Tuesday, with the participation of 700 soldiers from several NATO countries, as well as 200 representatives of the armed forces of Ukraine, informed website of the Bratislava newspaper Pravda with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.
“At the same time, on Tuesday, the international exercises of the European Shield began at several training grounds in the republic, in which, in addition to 700 representatives of the armies of NATO countries, 200 soldiers from Ukraine. The exercises have been approved by the Slovak government, said Defense Ministry spokesman Stefan Zemanovic.
The aim of the exercises, according to the publication, is to develop joint actions and tactics as well as to exchange experiences, including combat ones, on the part of the Ukrainian army.
