“I met with the President of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, the head of the Russian delegation (at the inauguration – ed.). I expressed the desire of Brazil to reach peace, so that the parties quickly find common ground to end the conflict,” he wrote on Twitter.
In addition, Lula da Silva said that he met with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko. “In Brazil, we have a tradition of protecting the integrity of nations and we will speak to everyone for peace,” he wrote.
