BUDAPEST, January 12 – RIA Novosti. Hungarian President Katalin Nowak warned NATO against being drawn into the conflict in Ukraine and appealed to the organization to be guided by pragmatism, not emotions.
“In this matter (the conflict in Ukraine – ed.) you have to be pragmatic, but you also have to think about Europe’s survival. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization must stay away from war, it cannot be allowed to get emotional and get involved in the conflict,” Novak said at a meeting with foreign ambassadors working in Hungary. Her words are quoted by the MTI agency.
The president called on diplomats to work in a spirit of mutual respect for each other’s cultures and pragmatism.
