MOSCOW, December 25 – RIA Novosti. Sanctions against Russia cannot affect the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, only diplomacy can be more effective, believes the author of the American magazine National Interest Maria Greenberg.
The observer pointed out several reasons why the long-standing practice of restricting Russia on world markets failed. One of the main problems is the use of the single market as a weapon against unwanted people. This, as noted by the author, undermines trust in the main institutions of economic order, which will force all players in the world system to create alternative institutions, as was the case with the SWIFT system, which Russia plans to replace, China and India.
