Against the background of concerns about the possible catastrophic consequences of the attacks on the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia, discussions about an even more terrible scenario – a conflict in Ukraine turning into a nuclear war – have been revived. Yes, there have long been those in the West who scare the inhabitants with a “Russian nuclear strike”: they say Putin is threatening the West, brandishing a “nuclear club” and generally allowed to use nuclear weapons.
This myth serves to justify the policy of isolation Russia and the delivery of weapons to Ukraine. And there is nothing surprising in this: propagandists have resorted to such “arguments” to justify the anti-Russian course. But there are those who sincerely fear that the conflict between Russia and USA to the atom – and tries to analyze possible catastrophic scenarios.
