TOKYO, January 26 – RIA Novosti. The Japanese government refrains from any assessment of the actions of Germany and the United States, which announced the supply of tanks to Ukraine, Deputy Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers Seiji Kihara said at a press conference.
“We are aware that US President Biden and German Chancellor Scholz have made statements regarding supplies to Ukraine… We would like to refrain from making any judgments. At the same time, we believe that in order to create conditions for dialogue with Russia and stop the conflict, the international community should continue to support Ukraine and put pressure on the Russian Federation with sanctions,” he said, responding to journalists’ request to comment on Berlin and Washington’s decision.
Kihara also stressed that “Japan attaches great importance to providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine.”
