MOSCOW, August 23 – RIA Novosti. Ukraine terminated the agreement with the Russian Federation on the avoidance of double taxation of income and property and the prevention of tax evasion, says in a statement of the Ministry of Finance of Russia.

“Ukraine, with the note No. 612119 / 23-017-65 of June 8, 2022, officially notified the Russian Federation of the termination of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Ukraine on the avoidance of double taxation of income and property and counteracting tax evasion of February 8, 1995 (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement) in accordance with the provisions of Art. 28 Agreements “- we read in the statement.

Ministry of Finance explained that, in accordance with the aforementioned note from the Ukrainian side and the note from the Russian side of 23 August, the agreement will cease to apply from 1 January 2023 to withholding taxes – on income paid or accrued on 1 January 2023 1 or after January 1, 2023, and in relation to other taxes – for tax periods beginning on January 1 or after January 1, 2023.
