MOSCOW, July 8 — RIA Novosti. Canada, contrary to Kiev’s requests, plans to make an exception in sanctions on Nord Stream turbines, writes «European truth» in relation to informed sources.
«The Canadian government intends, in agreement with Germany, to approve the decision to exempt the turbine supply regime for the Nord Stream gas pipeline from sanctions, which will create a precedent for the deliberate lifting of the embargo at the request of the state aggressor,» the newspaper writes.
The portal’s interlocutors claim that the formal reason for lifting the sanctions will be: task Minister of Economy of Germany Robert Habekwho previously urged Canada to hand over the turbine to Germany. In addition, Ottawa wants to justify its decision by stating that the return of the equipment will allow Russia to restore the volume of gas supplies to the EU.
