UN, October 10 — RIA Nowosti. Only 25-26% of food supplies from Ukraine under the Black Sea Grain Initiative reached the poorest countries, said the deputy representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Chumakov at the meeting of the 5th Committee of the UN General Assembly.
“On October 7, experts from FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) estimated the share of supplies to the poorest countries through the Black Sea Grain Initiative at 25-26%. At the same time, 148 out of 285 cargo flights, or 52%, went to the Member States EU. And that doesn’t count other developed countries, ”said Chumakov.
According to him, Russia is asking the UN secretariat for information on the percentage of developing countries, in particular LDCs and low-income countries with food shortages, receiving supplies under the Black Sea Initiative. «This information is extremely important for her assessment,» he said.
