MOSCOW, July 21 — RIA Novosti. Nora Jeruto from Kazakhstan won gold in the 3000m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA.
Jeruto covered the distance in 8 minutes 53.02 seconds, which is the best result of the world championship. Verkuha Getachew (8: 54.61) from Ethiopia was second with a country record, and her compatriot Mekides Abebe (8: 56.08) was third with a life record.
The gold medal of the naturalized Kenyan Jeruto became the first for Kazakhstan in the history of the World Cup.
