MOSCOW, November 28 — RIA Novosti. Christmas trees will be erected in many districts of Kiev, but there will be no mass celebrations, decided Mayor of the city Vitaly Klitschko.
“We understand that mass events are prohibited during wartime. And by no means will they be. But no one cancels the New Year and Christmas, and the atmosphere of the New Year should be. Despite different opinions from different sides, whether it is necessary or not, we turned to the business, which agreed not with budget money, but with its own funds, to install Christmas trees without New Year’s pathos,» Klitschko said, quoted by RBC Ukraine.
He added that Christmas trees will be erected in many districts of the city, including Zofia Square.
