CHISINAV, December 8 — RIA Novosti. The Moldovan side does not violate its contractual obligations towards Gazprom by storing gas in Romania or Ukraine, said the head of Moldovagaz Vadim Cheban.
President Russia Vladimir Putin informed on Wednesday that the Ministry of Energy will deal with the issue of storage by Moldova of part of the gas received from the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.
“I believe that JSC Moldovagaz has not breached its contractual obligations towards Gazprom, both in terms of gas supplies and wholesale. The surplus was sold to the state-owned company Energocom, which has the right to storage according to the law, because Moldova does not have its own gas storage facilities, gas reserves are created in Ukraine or Romania,” Ceban told NTV Moldova.
