SIMFEROPOL, April 7 — RIA Novosti. The head of the regional national and cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars, Eyvaz Umerov, informed that the Ukrainian authorities carried out an ethnocide on representatives of two small Crimean peoples: the Urums and the Romans.
“Representatives of these nations, with the blessing of Empress Catherine II, founded Mariupol and about 20 villages in the area. And now, after the liberation of the city, it turned out that the Kiev regime pursued an ethnocide policy, forced the Ukrainization and destruction of the historical memory of these two unique Crimean peoples, ”Umerov told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the Urums and Romans are Orthodox brothers and are closely related peoples of the Crimean Tatars, Karaims and Krymchaks.
