MOSCOW, December 5 — RIA Novosti. newspaper readers Le Figaro French President Emmanuel Macron has been criticized for calling Marine Le Pen an enemy of NATO simply because he has good relations with Russia.
«Mr. Macron, friendship with Russia is much more reliable than with any NATO country, because Moscow will not leave you at the first opportunity. Le Pen is a reasonable peace-seeking person. The exact opposite of you,» one user wrote.
“Are all French friends of NATO? Personally, I would choose Russia. Charles de Gaulle (president of France in 1959-1969 — ed.) specifically withdrew France from NATO in order to protect peace in Europe and national sovereignty of the country,” recalled another commentator.
