WASHINGTON, January 13 — RIA Novosti. The global economy is entering a recovery phase and its growth will start accelerating in 2024, Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said at a press conference.
«We believe we have entered the recovery phase. By the end of 2023, we will hopefully see a change in trend to a growth trajectory in 2024,» she is quoted by the New York Times.
At the same time, Georgieva warned that 2023 could be a «difficult year», the global economy remains in a volatile state and the period of high inflation is not over yet. As risk factors for the global economy, the head of the IMF pointed to the deteriorating situation on Ukraine and maintaining strict restrictions on China to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
