MOSCOW, May 3 — RIA Novosti. The Latvian Financial and Capital Market Commission (FCMC) refused to issue Latvijas Gāze a special permit to pay for Russian gas in rubles, informed the regulator’s representative in the Leta agency.
Formerly a company applied to the FMC for approval of a change in the settlement procedure with Russian Gazprom.
The agency said it did not authorize payments to companies. As follows from the regulator’s comment, approval is possible only for financial institutions that have applied for payments to persons subject to sanctions in certain exceptional cases.
