MOSCOW, January 29 — RIA Novosti. Moscow informed Tokyo that in the context of Japan’s policy of anti-Russian sanctions, it could not agree to intergovernmental consultations on an agreement on sea fishing for Japanese fishermen in the southern Kuril Islands, RIA Novosti reported in the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the Japanese embassy in Moscow reported that the Japanese side had received a notification from Moscow about the impossibility of agreeing on a date for consultations on fishing in the waters around the Kuril Islands and undertook to start negotiations on this matter.
