UN, August 3 — RIA Nowosti. A purchase of nuclear weapons by Kyiv would violate Ukraine’s obligations under the NPT, and would grossly undermine the nuclear non-proliferation regime, said the representative of the Russian delegation, Alexander Trofimov, speaking at the NPT review conference.
«The statements of Kyiv’s representatives must not be unnerving, not only questioning the feasibility of the Budapest Memorandum, but can also be interpreted as a request to revise the non-nuclear status of Ukraine,» said Trofimov.
