CHISINAV, December 18 — RIA Novosti. Moldova expects to start EU accession negotiations in May next year, decided Speaker of Parliament and head of the ruling Action and Solidarity party Igor Grosu.
«Our sincere desire is to do everything as soon as possible and as best as possible so that in May, when the assessments are carried out, we can present our successes and tell EU countries that Moldova has fulfilled its commitments, started to implement them and is ready to negotiate,» he said Grosu on the air of Moldova 1 TV channel.
According to him, now the country should do two things in parallel — solve crises and meet all the conditions set by the European Union. He stressed that the authorities are interested in several main goals: achieving EU membership, increasing the number of jobs, raising wages and pensions.
