The pressure of the Ukrainian authorities on the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church will cause a civil war in the country, decided Chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate for Relations between the Church, Society and the Media, Vladimir Legoyda.
«I am sure that pressure on the only canonical church in the country (not to mention its actual ban, which many deputies and other officials insist on) will not only not help bring unity and civil peace to Ukraine, but will only inflame the domestic confrontation even more , will eventually divide society and plunge the country even further into the abyss of conflict and disorder,» Legoyda wrote on his Telegram channel.
