MOSCOW, August 1 — RIA Novosti. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries is not intended to compete with Russia, decided in an interview with the Alrai newspaper, OPEC’s new secretary general, Haytham al-Ghais.
«OPEC is not in competition with Russia, it is a major, main and extremely influential player in the global energy market,» said Haytham al-Ghais.
The secretary general of the organization believes that the recent increase in oil prices is related not only to the situation in relations between Russia and Ukraine.
