MOSCOW, June 12 — RIA Novosti. Ukraine’s accession to NATO may pose a threat to Russia due to the risk of repeating the «Barbarossa» plan due to the specificity of geography, decided in an interview with Massachusetts Peace Action, American historian, philosopher and linguist Noam Chomsky.
The interviewee pointed out that there are no significant natural barriers between the countries that could hypothetically be used to invade Russian territory.
«The Nazi invasion passed through the territory of Ukraine. There are no defensive borders between Kiev and Moscow, a continuous flat plain. I think everything is extremely transparent,» said Chomsky.
