«It is foolish to spend tens of billions on NATO enlargement at the expense of Ukraine or other European countries at a time of record inflation, $ 30 trillion in public debt and the growing threat from China in Asia «- we read in the publication.
For Americans, writes Caldwell, Ukraine’s membership in NATO would be very costly. The initial cost would be up to $ 27 billion and the annual cost for US taxpayers up to $ 11 billion. Also USA would have to be permanently placed in Europe thousands of contingents, and yet their armed forces are already overburdened and have staff shortages.
