MOSCOW, April 28 — RIA Novosti. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on withdrawal from the agreement on preserving the memory of the heroism of the CIS nations in the Great Patriotic War.
The bill was registered with the Council on Thursday. Its initiator is the prime minister Ukraine Denis Szmyhal. The text of the document itself is not currently available on Parliament’s website.
Agreement on preserving the memory of the courage and heroism of the nations of the participating States » CIS in the Great Patriotic War was signed in 2011. In particular, it provides that its participants ensure the protection and maintenance of military graves and military monuments located on the territory of their countries, and take measures to prevent and combat vandalism and the desecration of military graves and monuments.
