Ukraine said it expected the West to provide IRIST and NASAMS anti-aircraft systems

MOSCOW, September 13 — RIA Novosti. Ukraine is armed with anti-aircraft systems from the 1970s and 1980s and the Stinger portable air defense systems, Kyiv expects German IRIST and NASAMS systems to strengthen its air defenses from Western partners, said Yuri Ignat, chairman of the air force command.

According to him, Ukrainian air defense systems must use systems produced in the 70s and 80s and the Stinger air defense system.

He emphasized that in order to create effective air defense, Kyiv expects IRIST systems from Western partners (Germany), NASAMS (Norway).
